Today was a pretty good day, even though I went to work with a stomach ache and headache this morning (For those of you not on Dirk Standard Time, "morning" is roughly 2pm GMT+1).
There were a few things I could get off my chest though, so that's definitely a good thing. First of all, we still had one incomplete checkin in the computer, one we couldn't finish because of stupid computerey things. So I called the Helldesk for help, and got a quick and very helpful answer (even though I remember trying that very same thing too on Friday, and it didn't work then ...).
The second thing was a rental I'd fucked up a week ago. It's not fixed as in "everything's fine now", but it's the best that could be done, and no one's going to bite my head off (even though we're missing the customer's credit card details, and Norma at some point called out "Dirk, get out your credit card, let's fix this thing". When I pointed out that I didn't have it with me, Olaf added that getting to my credit card details is no problem, since I've used it to rent cars. At that point I jokingly asked him to wait while I call my CC company to get my card blocked ...). Err. Anyway, in the end I entered the rental and as payment I put 0€ cash. Which means, after the customer returns his car he'll get mail asking to pay the car. And stuff.
Right. Other than that, the new guy was there for a bit today. We didn't do all too much though, since there really wasn't all that much to do. And as long as he doesn't have access to the cleaning stuff at the back of the airport, the only thing he's good for really, is getting cars refilled. And that's not neccessary all that often ... *shurgs*
And, sorry for him, I'm being selfish here. I need the money myself, so I'm not going to call him for help unless I really need him. As long as I can get by myself, I will, because it means more time I spend working, and therefore more money for teh me.
Tomorrow is going to be fun again. I've got 6 reservations during my shifts, 5 of those are italians who will all arrive on the same flight. Fun fun fun d;
Should be no problem though, and I actually quite like italian customers. Even though some of them don't speak a single word of german or english, you can still get along, because all of their details you need to enter in the computer are on their driving license. And I know how to say "driving license" in italian d;
We have a new work schedule too, let's see what Steffi says to that tomorrow ... *shurgs*
And I made a new reservation for this weekend. Chrischi and I are going to the Mark Knopfler concert in Hamburg on Saturday, and we're meeting somewhere in Hamburg before that. So I guess I'll get a car, drive to Schwarzenbek, get onto a train from there, meet with him, go to the concert, get back to Schwarzenbek, get the car from the train station, drive back home. That's the best way I could think of, to get back to Lübeck as fast as possible, because I have to work at 9.30 on Sunday ... o_O
And I found this setlist for a concert of MK's current tour online ...
And now, good night!
