The Bebop Box (Vol. 4-6) was in the mail today.
The Cowboy Box (Vol. 1-3) should be here in a few days.
First of all, it turns out that it's a hell of a lot cheaper to buy those boxes from the UK than it was getting the single discs in Germany. I've paid 50.54€ for this box (3 DVDs), but the individual discs released in Germany were 25€ each. (They're out of print now btw, so you can get them used on ebay for like 55€ - not that I'd even consider selling mine). The other box is even cheaper, that'll be around 40'ish € for the remaining 3 DVDs.
Anyway, the DVD box is thick cardboard, with high quality images printed on it. The individual DVD covers are similar to the ones used for the german release, but differ in colour. And, most importantly, this release doesn't have the Most Annoying Jingle / Trailer Thingy Ever that each DVD of the german release has. That's a 90 second, non-skippable, non-fast-forwardable commercial for the companies that "brought you this DVD" ...
I took a look at one of my favourite episodes (Pierrot Le Fou) to see what it's like. The translation seems good enough. Jet's voice is a little too low for my taste, but it's not too bad since he looks like a guy with a deep voice, and the original as well as the german voice is kinda deep too.
Spike's voice sucks.
Sorry, but it's true. They really should've cast someone with a similar voice to the original (that's one of the things they did right for the german dub IMO). Instead they've gone for something completely different, and ended up with a voice that doesn't seem to fit the character. *shurgs*
That's my two cents for the day ...
