Today at the airport was actually quite non-boring for most of the day.
The plane from Pisa attempted to land twice, then due to bad weather, gave up and flew to Hamburg instead. It was then announced that the flight had been cancelled, people might get their money back from Ryanair, and there's a shuttle bus going to Hamburg, in case anyone wants to go there ...
Of course the departure hall got quite busy, and people started asking about how much a rental car one-way to Pisa, or Italy in general, would be. I was well prepared of course, once the flight had been cancelled I checked the computer for all kinds of prices people might ask, and I also made a list of available cars so I wouldn't have to look around for them for too long. So, as it turns out, the one-way charge to Italy is 400€. Add the rental price itself, and all sorts of taxes and the airport surcharge, and you get a price of 557€ to rent a small car for one day, and to leave it in Pisa.
I managed to rent out two cars for that price today.
!!!
Some people were quite desperate to get to Pisa apparently (;
I also had two regular reservations, one customer got the Phaeton, the other one some small car.
And then a while later someone called who'd booked a car with navigation system yesterday, in the city station. He couldn't get the car for some reason though, and now wanted a car from me, today. With navigation system of course. Fortunately someone had brought over a Mercedes ML some time this morning from the city station. It didn't have a note or anything though, so I thought it was just another car for me to rent out. Well, fortunately I hadn't yet got rid of it though (I'd been close though, almost got rid of it earlier).
Anyway, 5 rentals, 2 reservations, 2 one-ways, good day all in all. The only car I didn't manage to get rid of today, for some reason, was the cheapest one I had. Those are usually the first ones to go, but not today. It's still at the airport. o_O
Well, and as a bonus, this evening some customers called and asked for directions to the airport, since they wanted to return a car to me. Turns out, it was the BMW Z4 I posted a picture of earlier today. What an incredibly cool car. I almost said "woot" to the customer when he told me it's a Z4. o_O
And since it wasn't fully refilled, I had a really good reason tofly drive it to the nearest gas station and get it refilled. And then to my place, since it was during my break. (:
I wonder how long that car will last at the airport.
I really would love to rent it for a day or two. It's one of those cars that you need to be 27 years for to get it though ...
Oh well.
And then during the late shift I sat at my counter and read my current Grisham. I'd placed the phone next to me because it's got a clock in its display, and I wanted to make sure I wouldn't miss the bus.
As it turned out though, the clock was like 8 minutes off, and I almost did miss my bus. Thank god I noticed some other clock at some point and quickly threw my stuff in the backpack, and left.
I'm not sure whether I've turned off the PC, but then leaving it on over night won't kill it. And it's not like it eats up a shitload of energy either ...
Hrmm ... Citroen C4 autobot commercial is on. I should buy one of those, and then sue Citroen when it doesn't turn into a robot and dance for me ...
It's Sunday today. And it appears that the next free day for me will be next Saturday. And the last free day I had was one week ago yesterday. There's quite a few things I need to get done, and I'm not quite sure when to do them. My kitchen and bathroom need some cleaning, I need to wash the dishes and stuff. That's all not too bad really, takes just a few hours.
I really have no idea when to wash my clothes though, and it's getting kinda urgent. o_O Guess I'll get by until Saturday, and I'll just have to keep that day free somehow.
And then, there's Christmas of course. Yurk. I need to go shopping for presents at some point ...
*e-Mails sister*
Right. Presents. I have something for my sister, it's at my parents' place somewhere. There's also plans for presents for my father. But everyone else? uhm ....
Well, anyway, I'm quite tired. And I need to be at the airport tomorrow again, 11.30. So I'll better go to bed now ...
