Short review:
- Manual sux big time. They should get someone who speaks english to write the english manual. I mean, they managed to misspell the word "english" for heaven's sake.
- Installed software and drivers, and it didn't work right away. Comp found player, software didn't see player though. Worked after a while though, dunno how I got it fixed.
- First thing I did was installing the latest UMS firmware on it. Now the software for it doesn't work - instead the whole thing acts like a USB stick, which I'm fine with.
- ear plugs that shipped with it sucked. I'm using my own good ones, which were about as expensive as the player itself. Seem to work fine with radio reception too.
-/+ controls are fiddly, but with the size and number of buttons, I don't see how it could've been done any better either.
+ it works pretty nice. Surprisingly nice for someone who used to use portable CD players ...
+ very good sound.
+ quickly boots up and shuts down.
+ good interface, once you get used to it a little.
+ small, but bright and easily readable display.
+ firmware upgradable - this thing didn't support ogg files when it was first released, afaik.
To summarise, this thing rocks. (:
