Bonus program ...
Jul. 1st, 2006 03:55 pm... I've got these two bonus program cards, that I use occasionally. Payback and Happydigits. They're two competing programs. I can use the Payback card when renting cars from Europcar, which I've done in the past, but not really all that often. It also works at Aral gas stations, and, if you do it right, on amazon.de ...
The Happydigits one is also my credit card. It works for Sixt, Karstadt (shopping mall chain), and any communications service that has a magenta T in it.
Anyway, I'm not enough of a consumer whore to collect all that many points.
Actually, that's not exactly true, I just don't have enough money to buy more stuff!
Anyway, what it comes down to is, that the points you collect become worthless after I think 3 years, or maybe 18 months, or so. And I can't really use them up before that happens. The only thing I can do though, is donating them. I just noticed that today, but both programs offer to donate money that equals the value of the points you've collected. Which is not a lot really. I just donated all points I've had on Payback to a Unicef project that builds schools in Africa, and my Happydigits points went to aid the victims of the earthquake on Java ...
That does change my view on those point collecting programs though. I've always thought they were pure evil ...
